CHAPMAN, Alta Grace – of Genesee Township, age 98, passed away October 24, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Pete Scribner officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Alta was born in Southfield, MI on December 16, 1916, daughter of the late William and Cora (Bingham) Walker. She married Herbert Chapman in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Alta was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, she loved lawn bowling and playing cards.
Alta is survived by her sons, Dale (Shirley) Chapman, Rodney (Pam) Chapman; grandchildren, Cindy Brown, Dale (Tracy) Chapman II, Stephanie (Jim) Hoffman, Steven Chapman, Matt (Debbie) Chapman; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, LaVerne, Delmar; sisters, Stella Owen, Ella Owen, Gladys (Elmer) Peters, Leota Measle.
