Dennis “Denny” Paul Bigelow, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on November 13, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (Peterson) Bigelow. He graduated from Clio High School in 1978. On June 11, 1983, he married Sandra Faler at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio, beginning a marriage that spanned more than 43 years.
Dennis had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and was an avid rider and racer. Whether racing on dirt or ice, he loved the thrill of competition and the friendships he made along the way. Dennis also had a love for animals, especially his dogs, and enjoyed raising cows, pigs, and chickens for several years at home.
After a motorcycle accident in 2004 left him paralyzed, Dennis never lost his adventurous spirit. He continued riding motorcycles and his side-by-side and enjoyed taking his boat out. He remained an avid hunter, proudly harvesting two deer during the 2025 hunting season.
Above all, Dennis loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who especially enjoyed bringing family and friends together. He will be remembered for his competitive spirit, determination, love of adventure, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Faler) Bigelow; his children, Mitch (Sarah) Shepard, Jason (Jill) Bigelow, and Brooke (Dakota) Gehrke; and his cherished grandchildren, Erik and Emily Shepard; Charlotte, Callum, and Lincoln Bigelow, with another granddaughter on the way; and Sawyer and Wren Gehrke. He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Ramin, Mark Bigelow, and Sheryl McClain, along with many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth (Peterson) Bigelow.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at O’Guinn Funeral Home in Clio, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. |
