BLOWER, Kirk Nelson – of Flint, MI, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at McLaren-Flint. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 Noon Monday, October 16, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Interment will take place following the service in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023, and the hour prior to the Liturgy on Monday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or First Tee of Eastern Michigan.
Kirk was born in Paw Paw, Michigan on May 9th, 1941, son of the late Lewis and Rose Alice (Cross) Blower. He married Rita Burza on August 17, 1963, in Paw Paw Michigan. Kirk and Rita moved to Flint in 1974 where they raised three children and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Kirk’s passion was law enforcement; he worked for the Michigan State Police as a radio operator and Argentine Township as a patrol officer. He concluded his career as a police dispatch supervisor with Genesee County 911. Kirk enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his yard and golfing. Above all, Kirk loved to spend time with his granddaughter Lillee-Ann, especially taking her golfing and attending her sporting events.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Michael, Anne-Dee, and Carol-Anne; granddaughter, Lillee-Ann, brother, Robert (Sue) Blower; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Marvin.
