WHITEHEAD, Robert Bentley - Of Flint, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at McLaren-Flint.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 5375 West Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Pastor Brian Sutherland officiating.
Robert was born on July 6, 1937.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a welder at trade until he retired, then worked at Builders Square until they closed and then worked at VG's Grocery. He also drove cars for L.D. Driveaway until the fall of 2019. He had to keep busy.
Robert was a hunter in earlier years and was great at fishing.
He loved spending time with family.
He married the love of his life, Helen on September 11, 1965 in Flint and they had been married for 56 years.
Surviving are wife, Helen;
daughter, Lori (Joe) Minterfering,
daughter-in-law, Leslie Whitehead;
grandchildren, John Minterfering, Brittany Minterfering her fiance' Ken DuRussell, Richard Whitehead and his fiance' Kevin Schickel, Ashley Templeton; an adopted granddaughter, Megan (Wesley) Wright;
great-granddaughters, Grace and Everly Wright;
brothers, Val Ray and Henry.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jim, who passed on June 29, 2012.
