Beatrice I. Basner, age 85, of Flint, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Visitation will be held at 3pm - 8pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will resume the following day at 10am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 6380 Beecher Road in Flint. Beatrice will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park beside her husband, Joseph, on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 1pm.

Beatrice was born on December 2, 1939, in Clare, Michigan to the late Durward & Violet Kennedy. She graduated from Clare High School, class of 1958. She married Joseph Basner on April 4, 1959. Beatrice had many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crochet and knitting. Over the years she made many quilts and baby blankets, which were often given to friends and family. She also loved to bake and made delicious pies, apple and pumpkin were the most requested flavors. Another favorite was her homemade bread. In memory of her late husband Joe, she would make a casino trip or two, whenever possible.When her children were younger, she served as their Girl Scout Leader and summers were spent traveling and camping. Above all Beatrice adored her family and always made an effort to attend church as fellowship was important to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Edward) Miller, Ann (Richard Frase) Cole and Karen (Michael) Webb; grandchildren, Nicole (Adam) White, Ashley Peake, Madeline (Nate) Boutwell, Joey (Fiancée Alayna) Cole, Michaela Webb, Zachary Webb and Ian Johnson; great-grandchildren, Michael, Quintin, Marissa, Aria, Morgan, Josslyn and Jaxon; great great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ryan and Ruby. Beatrice is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members (Darlene) and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph in 2016; brothers, Ronald and Robert and sisters, Myrtie Lou, Nancy, Dorothy and Helen.

The family would like to thank the staff of Genesee Gardens, especially Emma, for including Beatrice in many activities and always making her feel at home.. Durand Senior Care and Compassus Hospice provided excellent care as well and the family will be forever grateful to everyone who went over and above to make sure Beatrice was comfortable and cared for.
