Barbara Ilene Manausa, age 83, of Owosso, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Isaiah Duff officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest at Middlebury Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm.
Barbara was born May 30, 1943, in Owosso, the daughter of Ivan and Sylvia (Hammond) Rainey. She graduated from Owosso High School in 1961.
Barbara was a devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Ruth-Naomi Altar Guild and Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society. She also served as secretary at Christ Episcopal Church for many years. Barbara enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, watching MSU sports, traveling and spending time with her beloved family.
On August 5, 1961, Barbara married Gary Manausa in Owosso. They shared many years together before his passing in May of 2006.
Barbara devoted much of her life to caring for and raising her family. Her faith, love for her family, and dedication to her church were important parts of her life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Barbara is survived by her children: Kory Allen(Jennifer) Manausa, Kyle Jason(Christy) Manausa, Malynn Sue(Edwin) Voeltz, and Janae Maree (Todd) Stoltz; grandchildren: Nathan (Leigh) Huebner, Kelsey (Sean Dyer) White, Emily (Sam) Norder, Julia Manausa, Elizabeth Huebner, Elijah (Anna) Huebner, Sydney Manausa, Evan Stoltz, and Reagan Manausa; 9 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and her Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Dan and Ginger Manausa and brother in law Robert Sears.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Manausa, her parents, and her brother Ivan Rainey Jr, sister Nancy Sears, and close friend Judy Lighthill.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church or CJD Foundation.
