Yvonne "Carol" Whitcomb
Age 84, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flushing. She left us peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Haven of Rest, surrounded by the love of her family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 12 PM at Nelson-House Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 10 AM until the service begins.
Carol was born on July 5, 1941, in Lansing, Michigan, to the loving parents Milton and Doris (Clayton) DeLong.
She graduated from Owosso High School in 1959. She dedicated herself to being a devoted homemaker, nurturing her children with love and care. She later took on the role of township supervisor in Summerfield.
As a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Carol's spirit shone brightly through her genuine character. She was a devoted follower of her savior and relentlessly shared her love for Jesus and spread His word. She found joy in painting and sewing, and her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy bowling and motorcycle rides. Carol's heart truly blossomed in the presence of her family; she cherished every moment spent with them, creating countless memories that will be lovingly remembered.
On May 6, 1959, Carol married the love of her life, Donald Whitcomb. Their 64 years of marriage were filled with love that lasted until his passing.
Carol is survived by her beloved children: Donald "Bud" (Karen) Whitcomb, Robert (Debbie) Whitcomb, Linda (Chuck) Adkins, and Nancy (Kirk) Casper; her legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends and family who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Donald, her daughter Patricia TerBush, granddaughter Dotty, and her beloved parents, Milton and Doris Delong.
