SCHOPIERAY, Margaret – Of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint Township, age 87, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at The Oaks at Woodfield.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, MI, Father Steve Anderson officiating.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation 12-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Daughters of Isabella Memorial Service at 7:30pm. Mrs. Schopieray will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.

Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Outreach or the American Cancer Society.

Margaret was born in Flint, Michigan on August 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles and Regina (Witkowski) LaCross.
On May 11, 1946 she married Carl Schopieray at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights, MI. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Regina Coeli Circle #1095 Davison and a member of Herzog Blue Jacket Boosters. Margaret was a Clerk for Kroger Supermarkets for 26 years. She enjoyed polka dancing, sewing, embroidery work and making pies for Monday Night Bingos.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty and husband Kenneth Ritter of Flint, Barbara and husband Gerald Weber of Oregon, Ohio;
five grandchildren, Todd (Maricris) Ritter of Grand Blanc, Julie (Michael) Isecke of Shelby Township, Jennifer (Aaron) Wartella of Grand Blanc, Lori (Brady) Kesling of Toledo, Ohio and Kevin Weber (Kelly Hanner) of Oregon, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Cody, Kylie and Noah Wartella, Paige, Sophia and Lily Isecke;
sister, Dolores (Rollin) Coutchie of Grand Rapids;
sister-in-law, Carol LaCross of Traverse City;
several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Carl, in 2013, brother, Donald LaCross of Traverse City and granddaughter, Karen Weber of Oregon, Ohio.
