HORNER, BARBARA – Of Flint, age 90, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center Flint.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11am Friday, March 13, 2026, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Street, Flint. Father Matthew Bonk officiating.
Visitation will be held at 10am until the time of Mass on Friday at the church.
Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Home Health Care and Hospice or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Barbara was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7, 1935, the daughter of the late Stanly and Eva (Trcka) Horner.
She was a resident of Flint area her whole life. She was a member of American Businesswomen, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was President of the Altar Society and organist. She was previously employed by Genesys as an Educational Associate. She was a former member of Big Sisters, former volunteer with the American Red Cross, and former volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul and member and past President of Catholic Businesswomen’s Club. She was a volunteer chaplain at Hurley Hospital, and she volunteered with Catholic Charities and various food pantries and Genesee County Commission of aging up to the time of her death.
She dedicated her life to service church and Community.
She is survived by many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
