Michael Edward Mahoney
Age 66 died peacefully and was surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Oliver Woods Retirement Village of Owosso, Michigan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Owosso. The family will receive relatives and friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm with a scripture service at 7pm.
Michael was born on February 12, 1952 to Edward F. and Pearl (Ponsetto) Mahoney in Flint. He graduated from St. Michael's High School with the Class of 1970. Michael also worked as a Machine Technician at McDonald Dairy in Flint for over 30 years. During his life he enjoyed running and exercising at the YMCA. He was involved in several campaigns and had a passion for urban development and local government. In addition he was a cartoon artist that was featured in the monthly publication of Flint Comix known to his followers as The Pope of Carriage Town.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Karen (James) Moran, Mary (James) Young, Anne (Reggie) Rix, and Donald (Debbie) Mahoney; and his many nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Justin, Kathleen, Jessie, Jeremy, Joshua, Jeremy, Nathan, and Timothy.
He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Pearl Mahoney.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Grace Hospice and Oliver Woods for their constant care, love and support for Michael during his stay. |
