Dover, Michael J., of Flushing, age 71, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the comfort of his home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Christian Salata will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th at Caterer Family Funeral Home (formerly Rossell) with a Rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Michael was born on February 9, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Marshall and Angela (Hinke) Dover. He worked as an electrician for 47 years, retiring from General Motors after a long and rewarding career. He had a lifelong appreciation for automobiles and enjoyed traveling and camping in his RV. Michael was a loyal Detroit Lions fan, supporting the team through every season. One of his greatest passions was his Lionel train collection. He loved building model displays and dedicated an entire room to his hobby.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Dover; children, Rachel (Eric) Puls, Joel Dover and Kathryn (Edmund) Lockhart; grandchildren, Camden and Ethan Puls; sister, Anita (David) Krug; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Brian) Fisher and Janice Payment; brothers-in-law, Steve and John Payment and several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Angela Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society. |
