RICHERT, ROBERT ROY “BOB” - Of Flint, age 80, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Minister Marvin Diem officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12-4pm and 5-8pm on Thursday, July 16, 2026, and 12pm until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Bob was born on July 13, 1945, to Lee Chester and Thelma Richert in Pontiac, MI. He married Carleen Bice on November 13, 1970, and together they raised 6 children. Bob was a big sports fan and retired after 32 years of service with the railroad police in 2005 on his 60th birthday. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Carleen; 4 sons; Robert (Nettie), Ronald, Jason, Brian (Terra) and two daughters, Michele & Julie (David) and 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, Robin & Richard.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, Lee Chester and Thelma Richert, brother Ronald, sisters: Peggy, JoAnne & Phyllis and grandson Thor.
