David was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 14, 1959, the son of Oscar and Martha Phillips.
He enjoyed fishing and playing the lottery. He also enjoyed metal scrapping and was known as Scrapper Dave.
Surviving are, sister Pam and husband William Etson of Flint; father Oscar of Flint. Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother Martha and brother Charles Reardon.
