PENNELL, Gwendolyn E. – of Davison, age 88, passed away May 30, 2018 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 450 Wilson Rd., Otisville, MI 48463; Pastor Gary L. Beck and Pastor David Pennell co-officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Richfield Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Saturday and Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Abundant Life Mission.
Gwendolyn was born in North Branch, MI on August 13, 1929, daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Jacobs) Schank. She married David R. Pennell on August 17, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2011. Gwendolyn worked as a Registered Nurse and X-Ray Technician for several years. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and the church retiree’s group, a life-long member of the North Branch O.E.S., Girl Scout Leader for many years and UAW #599.
Gwendolyn is survived by her children, Deborah (Gregory) Pennell-Wilcox, David G. Pennell, Dennis C. (Sandy) Pennell and DelRae (Thomas) Lydon; grandchildren, Dustin, Matthew, Michael, Reese and Amy; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings.
