WARREN, James R. – of Flint, Michigan, age 85, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, July 18, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Kurt Bambach officiating. Cremation will take place following the service and inurnment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of America.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on June 19, 1940, son of James and Marjorie (Kilborn) Warren. He worked for General Motors for 35 years as a toolmaker and loved working there. James also farmed for many years. He enjoyed watching car racing, playing euchre, and growing vegetables – especially pumpkins. James was a member of the Burton Eagles #3814, Arrowhead Veteran’s Club, and the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club.
James is survived by his children: Corrie (Kevin Damian) Warren and Melissa Warren; grandchildren: Garrett (Kara) Pillow, Shelby (Josh) Goebel, Yvette (Aron) Hall Higgins, Mark Hall; great-grandchildren: Bransen and Anderson Pillow, Grace, Addison, Lucas and Joselyn Goebel, Amira, Aryia and Amari Hall Higgins; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Sandra Kelly.
