BELANGER, Gerald James – Of Flushing, age 72, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing, Father Roy Horning officiating.
Per Gerald’s wishes a private inurnment of his cremains will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Memorial Mass.
Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan on May 16, 1942, the son of the late Joseph and Cecile Belanger and sister Jackie.
He graduated from St. Michael Catholic High School, Class of 1960, and served in the United States Air Force.
Gerald married Rosalind Wilhelmi on August 7, 1971.
Gerald was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church. He was active with the Boy Scouts and the UAW Labor & Learning Museum in Flint. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Gerald retired from General Motors as a millwright.
Surviving are wife, Rosalind and their two sons
Bryan (Christina) and Andrew (Amanda);
six grandchildren;
sister-in-law; brother-in-law;
nieces and nephews.
