King, Margaret Lois “Margie” (Arndt), passed from this life into the waiting arms of our Savior on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the peace of knowing we will be united again.
A celebration of her life will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek on Tuesday, June 17th , 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Mom was born to Emil and Wilhelmina (Leistiko) Arndt in Heimdal, North Dakota on September 12, 1930. Grandpa worked for the railroad and also farmed large plots of land, so they moved around quite a bit in her youth; their final landing spot would be in Prescott, Michigan, when Mom was about 14. There they farmed the “Prescott Ranch” until Grandpa and Grandma’s retirement. Mom was the 11th child of 14, so Grandpa and Grandma had a lot of help. Mom had many memories of her youth and loved to tell us all stories.
In her late teens, Mom moved to Flint, where she met the love of her life, Wilford Dale King, Jr. They were married on March 27, 1954, and although he died in June 1982, she was faithful to him until her last breath.
Mom and Dad had four children that they raised mostly between Penwood Drive in Flint and Ray Road in Linden. They taught us to be loyal, respectful, forgiving, and to love Jesus and family, qualities that we have tried to pass on to our own children.
Mom was a para-pro in Linden Schools for many years. She retired in t1990. She was never seen in public unless her hair was styled, her make-up was on, and she was dressed to the nines. She was a modest and beautiful, yet humble woman and a living example of Proverbs 31. She loved to walk at the mall, shop day-after Thanksgiving sales, and cook for her family. She was so proud of her large family and loved having her picture made with us, even though she would always say, “I take the worst pictures!” Mom’s memory was intact, although her body was failing and she knew each of us even through the pain of her last few weeks. Mom is no longer suffering, and her sight and hearing have been restored!
So many loving memories of Mom are shared by her four children Larry (Debbie Lemieux-King) of Grand Blanc, Nancy King of San Diego, CA, Cathy King of Portland, OR and Greg (Shelly) of Flint Township; eleven grandchildren Brad, Wesley (Sara) Andrews, Josh (Heather) Andrews, Elizabeth (Charlie) Ward, Amber, Jennifer (Zack Greenbaum), Ross Lemieux, Meghann (Brandon Alexander), Elayna (Mike) Gauthier, Nick (Sara), and Kassandra. 17 Great-Grandchildren, Andrew, Hailey, Shelby, Savannah, Emma, Annabelle, Graham, Sophie, Zack, Gracie, Emily, Colton, Haylee, Audrey, Tobias, Axel and Ameilia; and one Great-Great grandchild with two more to be added in 2025; one sister, Delylah Black. She also leaves to cherish precious memories of Aunt Margie, too many nieces and nephews to count, but all of whom she knew by name and loved.
Mom’s homegoing represents a reunion with those she lost in her lifetime, including Dad, her parents, five brothers and seven sisters as well as many of their spouses.
