Richards, Vel - Age 80, of Flint, died January 24, 2023 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 Pm Sunday January 29 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Sarah LaRose Nettell officiating; (The funeral service may be viewed by Livestream at Mrs. Richards page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com) Visitation will be held 1-3 PM Sunday January 29.
Vel was born May 4, 1942 in Newberry, Michigan, the daughter of Delbert and Norma (Dutcher) Burton. She was to married to Jack Richards for 54 years when he preceded her in death January 18, 2013. Vel loved her dogs, and she loved spoiling all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are: children, Becky (Duane) Switzer, Beverly Brown, Jack Jr.(Dawn) Richards, Diana (Jim) Baker, John (Stacey) Richards; grandchildren: Monica, Seth, Duane Jr., Chad, BillyJack, Nicholas, Bruce, Jack III, Dereck, Jenette, Quentin, Hailey, Noah and Jackson; thirty one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Fenske and Ann Hanson; special brother-in-law Louis; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandsons, Dan and Brent; siblings, Vernon, Carley, Avis and Sharon.
