Keith Roger Hagen
February 5, 1944 – September 21, 2025

Keith Roger Hagen, 81, of St. Louis, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the Isabella County Medical Facility, with his beloved wife, Kathleen, by his side.

Born on February 5, 1944, in St. Louis, Michigan, Keith was the son of Alonzo and Wilda Hagen, who preceded him in death. He was a proud graduate of St. Louis High School, Class of 1963.

Following graduation, Keith began his career at Michigan Chemical, working in the salt warehouse before moving to the Rare Earth Division. After a brief stint as a mechanic, he pursued carpenter training with the support of his uncle Pete, completing his apprenticeship at JR Heineman in Bay City and becoming a union carpenter.

Keith’s career was marked by his versatility and drive. In 1973, he left the union to join Century 21 Lee Mac in Alma as a real estate agent. He later earned his broker’s license and founded his own company, Action Associates. Despite success in real estate, carpentry remained his passion. He earned his builder’s license and returned to the union, working on projects across Michigan until his retirement in 1998.

In 1987, Keith met the love of his life, Kathleen Frick. They married on October 14, 1988, and shared a deep, enduring love that was evident to all who knew them.

Keith was a man of many talents and interests. He built houseboats, crafted beautiful benches from repurposed bedframes, designed raised garden beds, water fountains, and was an avid photographer. From 2010 to 2015, he dedicated himself to capturing photographs of every lighthouse in Michigan. He also took great joy in supporting Kathleen in her musical endeavors.

Keith is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen Hagen; his daughter, Kimberly Greening (Darrell); and his granddaughters, Jessica Greening (Chris Witkowski) and Brook Greening. He will be remembered for his creativity, craftsmanship, sense of humor, and the quiet strength and love he brought to his family and friends.

Per Keith’s request, he has been cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Gratiot County Commission on Aging, Heartland Hospice, Isabella County Medical Facility, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Keith’s memory.
