Larry Michael Haughton, age 74, of Clio passed away suddenly Monday, November 30, 2020.
Larry was born on August 12, 1946 in Owosso to Max and Sadie (Bates) Haughton. He graduated in 1964 from Chesaning High School and began a career at General Motors the same year. He worked until he retired in 2008 as superintendent of maintenance.
Once you met Larry, you looked forward to seeing him again. He loved animals and had a huge heart. Larry was a kind man with a generous soul who would do anything to help his family and friends. Everyone could depend on Larry. He enjoyed spending summers on his boat in Traverse City, and flying his helicopter. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and special friends Sam Leslie and Tammy Bushey.
Larry is survived by his grandchildren Ashlee Hallwood, Taelar Hallwood, and Gary LoCoco Jr; great-grandchildren Audrey Webb and Aerianna Hallwood all of Muskegon; sister Maxine Coppersmith of Tennessee; brother Fred (Marge) Korf of Chesaning; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughters Penny Haughton-Jefferson and GayLynn Haughton; his parents; his step-father Herman Korf; his brothers Wayne (Carol) Haughton and Ken (Donna) Haughton; and his brother-in-law Stan Coppersmith.
He will be greatly missed.
