ROGERS, Cheryl Faye – Of Flint, age 77, died Friday, April 11, 2025, at Henry Ford Genesys.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Cheryl was born in Flint, Michigan on June 3, 1947, the daughter of the late Albert and Billie Faye Ratliff. Cheryl attended Fenton High School. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She had a love for animals, especially her cat, Koda. Cheryl loved her family and friends profusely and was loyal to them all. She was a caretaker of people she would help in any way she could. Cheryl was a retired Carman-Ainsworth school bus driver. She loved and became close to all the children on her bus through the years. Cheryl was also employed by Flint Aviation (IFC) where she made many friends.
Surviving are Daughters, Melissa (Rusty) Lee, Stephanie Gurley, Sundra (Dean) Stough;
Grandchildren, Kurtis Lee, Ashley Lee, Tayah Bruce, Dylan Gurley, Tyler Stough, Megan Kennedy and Barry Forster;
Sister, Rhonda (Aidan) O’Donnell;
Brothers, Michael Poage, Steve (Tina) Ratliff and Randy (Tiffany) Ratliff;
Sister-in-law, Kim Ratliff;
and several nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her “Mom”, Ann Ratliff. Cheryl shared her life with four wonderful husbands, Rick Mielke, Jim Eckler, and Roger Taylor and the last 25 years of her life, she spent with Johnnie Rogers whom she married on May 18, 2019. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Amy Jo Taylor, Jamie Lynn Eckler, brother, Craig Ratliff, nephew, CJ Ratliff, niece, Sarah Ratliff and best friend, Linda Gilliam.
