FLETCHER, Walter J. "Gator" - Age 72, of Swartz Creek, passed away September 19, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family.
A private family memorial service will be held 12 PM Sunday, September 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Walter was born April 10, 1949 in Flint the son of Billy Joe and Ivadell (Denlor) Fletcher. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1967. Walter and his wife, JoAnn, were married in Flint on January 14, 1972. He was an avid golfer. He adored his golden retriever, Holly. He loved and was very proud of his grandson, Jaxson. He was a Veteran Of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from General Motors, the Buick Motor Division after 30 years of dedicated service. Walter enjoyed time playing cards and golfing with friends. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Renwick); son, Matthew Fletcher; grandson, Jaxson Fletcher; sister, June (John) Steede of North Carolina; sister in law, Barb (Dave) Hammonds; brother in law, Bob (Seann) Renwick; nieces, Stacie Heavner, Lauren Renwick; nephew, David Hammonds; great-nephew, Tyler Heavner; and great-niece, Mikenzie Heavner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and in-laws, Bob and Noreen Renwick. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
