Michael Lynn Snell, age 69 of Owosso, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services.
Born on July 28, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, to Clayton and Elizabeth (Neilson) Snell, Michael's life was defined by a selfless nature and a love of the great outdoors.
A proud graduate of Corunna High School, Michael's education laid the foundation for a life rich in community and purpose. On June 9, 1987, he married his soulmate, Jessica Ann Szakal, in a beautiful ceremony in Corunna. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and unending companionship.
Michael was a dedicated employee at General Motors for 26 years, where he not only contributed to the company's success but also formed lasting friendships. He was a proud member of the Local 598 Union. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his commitment to his loved ones and the community around him. A strong supporter of the Corunna FFA, he enjoyed supporting the youth in the community.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael cherished his time spent in nature, whether it was waiting patiently in a hunting blind or casting a line into a tranquil lake. As a lifetime member of the NRA, he supported education and safety. His generous spirit often led him to share these experiences with others, teaching them the patience and respect for nature that he held so dear.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, always supportive of others' endeavors and dreams. His selflessness was evident in every aspect of his life, from the way he cared for his family to the way he lent a helping hand to a friend in need.
Michael's legacy is carried on by his loving family: his wife, Jessica; his mother, Elizabeth; his stepson, Robert (Nikky) Kagle; his granddaughter, Ariel Hernandez; and his cherished grandson and his wife, Avery and Amanda
Preceded in death by his father, Clayton Snell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Corunna FFA, 417 East King Street, Corunna, Michigan 48817.
