STUENDEL, Robert G., of Flint Township, age 100 died Thursday, December 26, 2025, at his Springvale Assisted Living residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 South Ballenger Highway, Flint, MI. Pastor Dean Dumbrille and son-in-law Pastor David Rossow officiating.
Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507. Mr. Stuendel will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan.8 until the time of the service.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 18, 1925. He graduated from Redford Union High School class of 1943. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps, stationed in Italy during WWII. Robert married Doris B. Haynes on September 30, 1950. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Robert was an entrepreneur. One of his early enterprises was being a “Milk Man” operating a Twin Pines Dairy milk route. For most of his life he owned and operated “Stewart In-Fra-Red Sandwiches” franchises.
Robert was devoted to his family, and received great joy from being with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Robert was the beloved father of three children, Laurie Koenig of Perrysburg, Ohio, Nancy (David) Rossow of Swartz Creek, MI and Rob Stuendel of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren, Lindsay (Jeff) Brown, and Laura (Philip) Squier, both of Laingsburg, MI. Michael (Bonnie) Rossow of Alger, MI; Scott Koenig of Tucson, Arizona and Todd Koenig of Chicago, Il. Eight great-grandchildren, Kinley, Addison and Jesslyn Brown, William and Loretta Rossow, and Skyler, Pilot and Hawk Squier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com.
