Melinda Louise Brown, lovingly known as "Mindy" passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on July 5, 1981 in Flint, Michigan. Mindy brought light, laughter, and unwavering energy into the lives of everyone she touched.
Mindy was a proud and devoted mother to her two sons, Jerimiah M. Sanders and Jamarcus J. Brooks, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her loving parents, beloved mother Peggy Brown, father Larry Brown-Anderson, and Joel F. Anderson; her brother Nathan Brown; and her step-siblings Joel (Tony) Anderson, Jesse and Stacy Anderson, and Jaclyn Anderson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins-all of whom will deeply miss her fire, humor, and boundless heart.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Agnes Margarette and Foy "Red" Meador; Lloyd and Verna Kollfoff; her paternal grandparents Dennis F. and Erma L. Brown; her stepsister, Janine Anderson; her cousin, Brandon Anderson; and Jabar Brooks (2024), the father of her son Jamarcus.
A hard worker with a gift for connecting with people, Mindy spent much of her life working in retail and customer service, always known for going the extra mile. She lived with joy and spontaneity-always game for anything-and brought laughter and fun wherever she went. Beyond her fun-loving spirit, Mindy had a deep and passionate heart for others. She was a true humanitarian, often dedicating time and energy to helping the homeless and those in need.
Mindy's life will be celebrated on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Joel and Larry Anderson's home. This celebration of Life will honor her legacy, love, and unforgettable presence.
She will be remembered not only for her strength, compassion, and infectious laughter, but for how she made people feel-seen, valued, and loved.
