Buterakos, Josephine Ann, of Flint, age 72, died Friday, May 22, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Flint Baptist Temple, 1430 E. Bristol Rd, Burton. Family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, until the time of service at the church. A private inurnment will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Josephine was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on November 25, 1953, the daughter of the late Emmett and Marjorie (Klinger) Burroughs. She was a graduate of Flint Southwestern Class of 1971. Josephine spent her entire professional career at Chase Bank, retiring as a personal banker. She genuinely loved helping people and found great fulfillment in serving others, especially those in need. Her life was marked by compassion, selflessness, and an unwavering devotion to her family, always placing others before herself. She always saw the good in everyone and worked to make the world a better place. Josephine was a faithful member of Flint Baptist Temple, where she cherished the support of her church and neighborhood family. In her free time, she enjoyed antiquing and collecting flamingos. She had a special love for animals and all things pink.
Josephine is survived by her son, Christopher (Sharron) Dubey; daughter, Emily (Matthew) England; grandchildren, Aiden England, Adyson England, Olivia Dubey, Jordan Dortch and Jaleal Dortch; great-granddaughter, Janayah; brother, Douglas Burroughs; nephew, Ben (Eva) Burroughs; and niece, Rachel (Jed) Burroughs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Marjorie Burroughs.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephine’s memory are suggested to the Flint Baptist Temple.
