MATUSIAK, Alice Yax - age 89, of Homosassa, FL, formerly of Swartz Creek and Gaylord, beloved wife, sister, and aunt went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 5 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel’s temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Road, Mundy Township. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4 from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the same location. Pastor Tom Hoose will be officiating. Internment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army
Alice was born February 13, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Alice (Layman) Yax. She attended Mary Crapo High School. Alice married Arthur Matusiak in March of 1963. During her lifetime Alice worked at AC Spark Plug, was an insurance agent, a published author and taught Sunday School for over 20 years at the Gaylord Church of the Nazarene and was also a member there.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 55 years, Arthur, siblings Alva Yax, Ethel Porritt, Marion Sharp, and many many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her parents (Roy and Alice) brothers, Ora Yax, Frank Yax, Herb Yax, William Yax, Clarence Yax and sister Marjorie Humphries. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
