TATE, William Lee “Bill” - Of Flint, age 77, died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his residence.

A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral
Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.

Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.

William was born in Jasper, Alabama on June 16, 1943 the son of the late Willie Bell Tate. He was raised in Hornsville, Missouri and graduated from Hornsville High School. Bill then moved from Missouri to Flint to work at General Motors from where he retired in 1991. Automobiles were his whole life and he had a vast collection.

Surviving are children, Kevin Tate and Kelly Sheahan and fiance, Earl Rainwater;

Grandchildren, Robert Metcalf, Taylor Sheahan (Matt), Chase Tate, Zac Tate and Peyton Rainwater;

Great-grandchildren, Gracie Asaro, Sloan Metcalf;

And great-grandson due in May, Zac Tate;

Sister, Shirley Heatherington of Kennett, MO;

Brothers, Clyde Whitworth of Genesee, Larry Whitworth of Clinton, Arkansas, and Sam Whitworth of Kansas City;

special friend, Barb Branham;

brother-in-law, Nathan Puckett;

and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Tate, mother, Willie Bell Tate and grandmother who raised him Annie Tate.
