Waite, Estella L. -age 99, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her residence. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11:00AM with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Holy Family Catholic Church 11824 S.Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating. Inurnment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 4:00PM-8:00PM, with a rosary at 7:00PM at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Estella was born August 15, 1915 in Rudyard, Michigan, a daughter of the late Michael and Roseanna Vigneau Knauf and came to this area in 1991. She had worked as a teacher’s aide for the Michigan Board of Education from where she was retired. Estella was a member of St. Christine’s Catholic Church and in her younger years enjoyed dancing. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing solitaire and doing word searches. Her husband, George R. Waite, Jr. whom she married January 23, 1937 died in 1962. Estella leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Lorna and Michael Martin with whom she made her home; three sons, George and his wife Roberta of California, Michael and his wife Debe of Michigan and Carl and his wife Linda of New York. Estella also leaves her sister Mary H. Clover of Canfield; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, Estella was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Marchand and Louise Tremblay and two brothers, Joseph Knauf and Henry Knauf.
